About Us

Based in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains (NSW), Mermaid Manor Costume Hire offers quality costumes sourced from all over the world. Many are deluxe and unusual. I am costume obsessed, and am turning my obsession into a practical and fun service for mountain people.

 A large range of accessories are also available and I can mix and match a costume for your needs. Need something for a child's birthday party, the Winter Magic Festival, Halloween or other special events? Both BOYS and GIRLS Costumes are available to suit newborns through to age 15. A small range of adult costumes are also available due to popular demand.

Costumes are $10 for five-day hire, with $1 (per day) late return fee. Some costumes require a $10 deposit due to the value of the costume. This is refunded when the garment is returned undamaged.  Costumes are requested to be returned UNWASHED.

A $5 surcharge applies for customers who have not pre-chosen a costume prior to pickup as this requires me to get all the costumes (in the size you require) out on racks for selection. This takes me up to 45 minutes to do prior to your arrival. Also the choosing process takes longer as children often haven't looked at the pictures online and need to go through all the costumes. Thus I encourage you to look through the pictures online with your children and have at least 1-3 possible selections in mind. This makes the whole process much more smooth.

Location

I am a local mother in Katoomba, and have all the costumes at my home. You are welcome to come and select something for your needs. Delivery may be possible within the Blue Mountains for approx $5 delivery. This depends on my ability to do this at the time.

Almost all costumes are available to view online at this website. They are organised in albums according to theme. The smallest costumes are at the top, progressing to larger sizes as you scroll down.
